As the 2021-26 term comes into its mid-term, the Kawempe South legislator Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira has opted to rebrand and shed off his silent self, to again posture as an outspoken politician.
The MP who is apparently part of the 3 day opposition retreat in Entebbe has taken to Twitter to narrate what exactly went wrong with him as he had decided to rebrand from a political parrot that would speak about every matter concerning the common person.
In his tweet, Mbaziira throws weight on the side of Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, asserting that the NRM regime has made it a tendency to label and weaken opposition leaders by depicting them as ‘moles’ in a bid to trim their popularity. Kazibwe refers to himself as a living example as he claims he has been maliced all along.
However, this does not go well with some of his former supporters who tasked him to account for some of the draconian policies he has supported in parliament.
Some allegations had claimed he backed the streamlining of the Boda Boda industry by evicting some riders, and also he is accused of supporting the report on the amendment of the Computer Misuse bill 2022 which was fronted by the Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko.
Sources at parliament suggest that Kazibwe Bashir was compromised immediately when he stepped at parliament.
The same thoughts are harboured by members of his own party. On record, NUP president too was heard at a presser last year lashing out at Kazibwe Bashir over allegations that he went against the will of his electorate.
And after exposing these crooks the likes of Salim Saleh and Museveni. They always try to character-assassinate you so that you lose popularity just as they tried character-assassinating me so that my supporters start thinking I am in bed with the NRM government.#NSSF
