Music producer, Yese Oman Rafiki, has joined fellow producers to demand more pay from musicians they produce music for. In Uganda, music producers are less appreciated when it comes to putting out content and making hits.
When a song goes viral, the artiste takes the whole recognition and forgets about the producer who made it happen on top of paying him very little money.
Now different producers have come out to demand more money because if artistes don’t credit them at least they should be earning a lot from them.
Yese Oman Rafiki as a producer revealed that they should be having rights to the song as producers or else they start charging as much as they can in order to also benefit like the way artistes benefit.
“We need more pay as producers or else they give us rights to the songs. We are the people that make the biggest part of a song but an artiste takes the whole credit and even forgets about us even after benefiting a lot. That’s not cool that’s why I am fighting for an extra pay,” Yese Oman Rafiki said
