Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter began on April 14, 2022, and it was concluded on October 27, 2022.
After Elon Musk purchased Twitter on October 4, 2022, for worth $44 billion, he laid out a series of ideas for a new verification process on Twitter.
In one of his tweets, Musk said he will give power to the people by offering verification through Twitter Blue for $8 a month.
This made most Twitter users complain saying Twitter’s lords and peasants systems for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark isn’t fair.
“There will be a secondary tag below the name for someone who is a public figure, which is already the case for politicians. This will also give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators. To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8.” replied Elon Musk.
